Coastal elegance

The most important idea behind this garden was not to separate the house from the adjoining dunes, but to allow the two landscapes to merge almost imperceptibly.

The wild coastal landscape seems to move closer to the house — slightly more expressive and intentionally composed, yet without losing its natural character.

Loose planting forms, grasses, perennials, groups of pines and a restrained coastal plant palette continue the mood of the surroundings into the area closest to the house.

The boundary between the designed and wild landscape becomes almost invisible: the garden gradually gives way to the dunes, while the dunes appear to enter the garden.
