Natural elegance

In creating this garden, the most important consideration was to let it become a natural continuation of the surrounding landscape — its terrain, the neighbouring forest and the river.

Walking paths wind out from the house through loosely composed, wild-inspired planting, gradually dissolving the boundary between the designed garden and nature.

The most expressive feature is a series of floating steps — an apparently weightless architectural line that contrasts with the rich planting and connects the different levels of the terrain.

The result is a landscape that cannot be taken in at a single glance. It reveals itself through movement as the light, seasons and viewpoints change.
